Chapter: Schooner of the Moon
The Rambling Redtider – June 8, 2020
Oh dear.
At least Pavel is surprisingly calm in the presence of an overly-excited plesiosaur.
The God’s Tongue is fun to play with. But why is Cheth speaking it? Was he speaking it all along?! Dang.
Im just constantly on the edge of my seat for poor Pavel- but he’s handing this like a champ still!!!
This has ended up as a kind of a “Pavel Experiences Varying Levels of Crisis” chapter so BUCKLE UP
is the gods tongue translatable? Will we ever get a partial key if it is?
It is translatable and has a key! I can’t release it for a while, but a few words will be relatively clear in this chapter (or can be inferred) and could be used as partial keys.
A decently useful one is at the bottom of this page…
Are they a 1:1 translation to the Latin alphabet or are they phonetic? ie the 3 symbols in the bottom panel are 3 letters? Has Cheth said his own name already?
Many are 1:1 Latin letters, but several of them are symbols that stand for 2-4 letter combos, so they’ll be harder to figure out. In this case, the bottom word is not a three-letter word.
Cheth has not said his own name yet. But we have SEEN Cheth’s name…
Oooh, tricky. That does explain why one letter is coming up more than I’d expect though…
So here’s a question. Assuming that the last word cheth says is “them?” And the fact that you told us that cheth has not said his own name but we’ve seen it, (also taking into account that I have not seen any form of godspeak, written or spoken outside of this chapter) I have to wonder, are the tattoos on cheth’s arms his name? The one closest to his wrist is a solid square (which I assume is the letters “th”), the one above that is three lines (which I’m the last line seems to be the letter e) making the top symbol the letters ch.
Nova. NOVA.
Give yourself a big pat on the back.
You are absolutely correct.
:D!
